KING'S PLACES 36 ON MAC SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS
WILKES-BARRE -- A total of 36 King's College
student-athletes have been named to the 2008 Middle Atlantic Conference
Spring Sports All-Academic Team.
To be nominated for selection, student-athletes must maintain a minimum
3.20 overall grade-point average and be at least a sophomore in class
standing. Combined with selections from the MAC fall and winter sports
all-academic teams, a total of 105 King's student-athletes earned
MAC all-academic honors during the 2007-08 academic year.
The Monarch baseball team led the way in the spring with 10 players
selected, including Matt Colgan, Gracjan Kraszewski, Matt Livoy, Eric
Matula, Pat McGlynn, John McNichol, Phil Moskowitz, Matt Unger, Matt
VanStone, and Jon Venarchick.
The softball team placed seven players on the squad, including Annie
Drimones, Meaghan Galvin, Lindsey Hoerner, Becky Loring, Christie
Parfitt, Sue Roccia, and Kelsey Shreaves.
The women's lacrosse team also had seven players chosen, including
Melissa Gates, Grace King, Kari Leach, Shannon Ellis, Rachel Azar,
Reanna Lachner, and Michelle O'Brien.
King's men's tennis squad had six players selected, including Blake
Bonser, Joe Guza, Nick Hojsack, David Kaluzavich, David Chen, and Jon
Ferrie.
Three members of the golf team were named, including Michael Kane, Mike
Wagner, and Eric Weiscarger.
The men's lacrosse team also had three
players listed, including Rich Lanahan, Alan Matusiewicz, and David
Scott.
