KING'S PLACES 14 ON MAC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
WILKES-BARRE -- A total of 14 King's College
student-athletes have been selected to the 2008 Middle Atlantic
Conferences Winter Sports All-Academic Team, the MAC Office announced.
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must maintain a minimum
3.20 overall grade-point average and be at least a sophomore in class
standing. King's nominations came the college's four winter MAC member
sports.
The men's basketball team has six players selected, including seniors
Jared Black, Jamie Cousart, Kofi Dwebeng, and Vince Scalzo. Junior Ian
Gilmartin and sophomore Mike Wagner were also named to the team.
The women's basketball team placed five players on the squad, including
seniors Lauren Kendra and Andrea Hochstuhl, juniors Andrea Carroll and
Kaitlyn Fiorino, and sophomore Kaitlyn Malshefski.
The women's swimming team had two players chosen, including sophomores
Susan Hughes and Jess Thomas. The men's swim team was represented by
sophomore Caleb Farrell.
Combined with 55 selections from the fall sports teams, King's has
placed a total of 69 student-athletes on MAC all-academic teams thus far
in 2007-08.
