KING'S PLACES 15 ON MAC WINTER SPORTS ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

WILKES-BARRE -- A total of 15 student-athletes from King's three Middle Atlantic Conference sponsored sports have been named to the MAC Winter All-Academic Team.

In order to be nominated for selection, student-athletes must maintain an overall minimum 3.20 grade-point average and be at least a sophomore in class standing. Freshmen are not eligible for selection.

The women's basketball team was represented by seven players, including sophomore guard Andrea Carroll, sophomore small forward Kaitlyn Fiorino, senior forward Casey Heitman, junior center Andrea Hochstuhl, sophomore guard Anne Kaluzavich, junior guard Lauren Kendra, and junior guard Johnna Strenchock.

The men's basketball squad also had seven players selected, including junior guard Jared Black, junior guard Jamie Cousart, junior guard Kofi Dwebeng, sophomore forward Ian Gilmartin, junior forward Vince Scalzo, senior small forward Vince Sobocinski, and sophomore guard Shawn Swim.

With only one non-freshmen on the swimming team roster, sophomore Susan Prentice was the team's lone representative, rounding out the winter selections at 15. With the King's wrestling team now competing in the Metropolitan Wrestling Conference, Monarch grapplers were not eligible for selection to the MAC Winter Sports Team.

Combined with 60 student-athletes named to the MAC Fall Sports All-Academic team, King's has had 75 selections to the conference all-academic teams thus far this year.
