KING'S MEN'S, WOMEN'S FREEDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
GAMES SET, TICKET PRICES ALSO SET
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's and
women's basketball teams will look to secure berths in the NCAA Division
III National Tournament when both squads compete in the Freedom
Conference championship game on Saturday.
Tickets
for each game have been set at $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors, and
$2.00 for students. Children under age six will be admitted free.
The
King's men will host DeSales Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gym.
The Monarchs
(18-8) advanced
to the championship with a 83-74 victory over FDU-Florham in a
semi-final matchup on Wednesday. DeSales (19-7) reached the final with
a 62-60 upset at second-seeded Scranton, also on Wednesday. The winner
of the King's-DeSales men's game will receive an automatic berth into
the Division III National Tournament.
The King's women (19-7) will travel to play arch-rival University of
Scranton (24-2) in the Freedom Conference championship game at 7:00 p.m.
in the John Long Center. Second-seeded King's moved onto the title game
after a 83-73 victory over third-seeded DeSales on Wednesday.
Top-seeded Scranton reached the finals with an 83-76 victory over
fourth-seeded Drew. The winner of the King's-Scranton game will
receive an automatic berth into the Division III National Tournament.
