KING'S SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL, CROSS COUNTRY PLAYERS HONORED BY MAC

WILKES-BARRE -- Members of the King's College men's soccer, women's volleyball, cross country, and women's tennis teams have been named honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Senior Mike McGarry was named a second-team All-Freedom Conference pick in men's soccer; junior Michelle Oros was a second-team selection in women's volleyball, while senior Megan Michael was named first-team in women's tennis. Senior Chuck Dinofrio was named first-team All-MAC in cross country.

In men's soccer, McGarry was named to the second-team for the Monarchs after earning first-team status in 2003. McGarry battled knee problems throughout the entire season but still managed to score 15 points on four goals and a team-high seven assists.

In women's volleyball, junior Michelle Oros was named to the second-team after leading the Lady Monarchs to a 17-12 record. A Crestwood product, Oros posted a team-high 342 kills and tied a pair of single-season school records with 122 total blocks and 71 solo blocks. She chipped in with 75 digs and 14 service aces

Dinofrio, a graduate of Bishop Hafey, concluded one of the finest cross country careers in King's history by placing ninth in the MAC Championships on Saturday. It was Dinofrio's second straight top-10 finish and his third time in the top 15.

A Wyoming Valley West product, Michael finished second in the MAC Singles Championships and finshed the year with a 14-4 record and a 43-23 career mark.
