KING'S SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL, CROSS COUNTRY PLAYERS
HONORED BY MAC
WILKES-BARRE -- Members of the King's College men's
soccer, women's volleyball, cross country, and women's tennis teams have
been named honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference.
Senior Mike McGarry was named a second-team
All-Freedom Conference pick in men's soccer; junior Michelle Oros
was a second-team selection in women's volleyball, while senior Megan
Michael was named first-team in women's tennis. Senior Chuck
Dinofrio was named first-team All-MAC in cross country.
In men's soccer, McGarry was named to the
second-team for the Monarchs after earning first-team status in 2003.
McGarry battled knee problems throughout the entire season but still
managed to score 15 points on four goals and a team-high seven assists.
In women's volleyball, junior Michelle Oros was
named to the second-team after leading the Lady Monarchs to a 17-12
record. A Crestwood product, Oros posted a team-high 342 kills and tied a
pair of single-season school records with 122 total blocks and 71 solo
blocks. She chipped in with 75 digs and 14 service aces
Dinofrio, a graduate of Bishop Hafey, concluded one
of the finest cross country careers in King's history by placing ninth in
the MAC Championships on Saturday. It was Dinofrio's second straight
top-10 finish and his third time in the top 15.
A Wyoming Valley West product, Michael finished
second in the MAC Singles Championships and finshed the year with a 14-4
record and a 43-23 career mark.
