KING'S MULTI-PURPOSE TURF FIELD NEARING COMPLETION
WILKES-BARRE -- The new synthetic turf field at King's College's Robert
L. Betzler Fields athletic complex is nearing completion, setting the
stage for the remainder of the $1.2 million project.
The turf has been installed and the numbering and lettering of the field
is in the midst of being completed.
Once the field has been completed, field lines for lacrosse, soccer, and
field hockey will be added; new goal posts will be installed; a new
scoreboard will replace the original; lights for evening games and
practice will be installed; and fencing will be replaced around the
border of the field. Work is expected to be completed by August 1, 2008.
The field, made possible due to the efforts of King's Legacy of
Excellence Capital Campaign, will benefit the College's football, field
hockey, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's lacrosse teams.
