REILLY, BISHOP NAMED TO NWCA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICAN TEAM
WILKES-BARRE -- King's College junior wrestlers Jason Reilly and Jim
Bishop have been named to the 2006 National Wrestling Coaches
Association Scholar All-American Team.
In order to be nominated for selection, wrestlers must maintain a
minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average while posting at least a 3.20
GPA over the course of their last two semesters. Wrestlers must also
finish in the top six of their conference tournament.
Reilly finished the 2005-06 season with a 27-2 record and placed third
in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships after concluding the
regular-season ranked eighth nationally at 197-pounds. Reilly is a
two-time MAC place-winner.
Bishop, who missed part of the season with a knee injury, posted an 11-3
record and also placed third in the MAC Championships at 285-pounds. he
is a three-time MAC place-winner at heavyweight.
Reilly and Bishop were two of 97 wrestlers selected from NCAA Division
III colleges. Reilly was one of 10 wrestlers named from the 197-pound
weight division, while Bishop was one of just six heavyweights chosen.
