MONARCH WRESTLERS SPLIT WITH KUTZTOWN, BAPTIST BIBLE

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College wrestling split a triangular match with Kutztown University and Baptist Bible College Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

King's fell to NCAA Division II Kutztown 26-16 before posting a 54-6 victory over Baptist Bible>  Kutztown defeated Baptist Bible 60-0.

Against Kutztown, the Monarchs (1-1) fell behind 12-0 after two matches but Scott Prutzman, Chris Sullivan, Drew Dehaut, and Bob Barrese won four straight decisions for King's to forge a 12-12 tie. Kutztown would win the next two bouts to take a 20-12 lead before King's Jason Reilly earned a 14-5 major decision to bring the Monarchs to within 20-16 heading into the final bout.  But Kutztown's Andy Freas registered a fall to seal the victory for the Golden Bears. King's won five of the 10 bouts against Kutztown but three pins by the Golden Bears proved to be the difference.

Against Baptist Bible, which only had four wrestlers available, King's received six forfeit victories. Sean Mulligan (125), Zach Dietrick (174), and Mike O'Hara (184) posted pins for the Monarchs.

King's will be idle until December 3 when the Monarchs travel to New York City to face Hunter College.
