KING'S WRESTLERS DROP TRI-MEET TO MESSIAH, McDANIEL

GRANTHAM -- The King's College wrestling team wrapped up the dual meet season with a pair of losses as the Monarchs dropped both ends of a tri-match to host Messiah College and McDaniel College.

King's fell to McDaniel 30-21, then fell to Messiah 23-19.

Senior all-American Joe Arnone won both matches, posting a pin and a decision at 165 to improve to 25-4.  Sophomore Jason Reilly won both his matches with first period pins to up his mark to 15-1.  Sophomore Jim Bishop also posted a pin and decision for the Monarchs at 285

The Monarchs suffered a tough break against Messiah when sophomore standout Drew Dehaut (21-6) was leading 9-3 when he was caught and pinned in the second period. The loss, which resulted in a minimal nine-point swing, would come back to haunt the Monarchs who dropped the match by four points.

Freshman Ryan Richard went 1-1, posting a major decision win against Messiah. Freshman Chris Sullivan also went 1-1, earning a 5-4 decision versus Messiah.

King's will next compete in the MAC Championships Saturday at Wilkes University.
