KING'S WRESTLERS FIFTH AT URSINUS INVITATIONAL

Tournament Brackets

COLLEGEVILLE -- The King's College wrestling team finished fifth on nine teams at the Ursinus College Brute-Adidas Invitational Tournament Saturday in Collegeville.

The Monarchs did not place an individual champion at the event but had two second-place finishers. Senior Joe Arnone was second at 157-pounds while sophomore Jim Bishop was runner-up at 285.

Arnone won three matches before dropping a 4-2 decision to eighth-ranked Scott Roesch of Ursinus in the final.  Arnone, who has dropped three matches to Roesch this season, won his 99th career match.  Bishop won a pair of decisions with a pin on his way to the finals where he was pinned in 0:15 by Ben Vaught of Baptist Bible College.

Sophomore Drew Dehaut placed third at 157-pounds for the Monarchs, posting a 7-3 decision over Joe Yenchak of Wilkes in the consolation finals.

Freshman Ryan Richard was fourth at 125-pounds, losing by fall to Wilkes' Jeremy Mayer in 5:59 in the consolation finals. Freshman Adam Penberthy was fourth at 149-pounds, losing by pin in 3:46 to Greg Tierney of Centenary.

The Monarchs will return to action Friday with a 7:00 p.m. match at Lycoming College in Williamsport.
