GRAPPLERS DEFEAT SCRANTON, 31-12
SCRANTON – The King’s College wrestling team won eight of 10 bouts
as the
Monarchs posted a 31-12 victory
over the University of Scranton Saturday in the
Long Center.
After dropping the first match at 174-pounds, Lee Vodofsky got King’s
started
with a major decision at
184-pounds. Matt Gingo and Tegan McKee picked up decisions
at 197 and 285 respectively before Mitch Marcks and Jeremy Ackerman
added forfeit wins to put the Monarchs ahead
22 – 6.
In the 141-pound match, King’s all-American Jim Morgan posted a 10-5
decision
over former Monarchs teammate,
a 2000 MAC champion at 133 pounds. After Scranton would post a pin at 149,
the Monarchs Dave Shafer and Joe Arnone earned
decisions at 157 and 165 pounds to close out the match. King’s
will next wrestler at Muhlenberg College Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Allentown.
