GRANTHAM -- The King's wrestling team opened the
season by winning the Messiah College Invitational Tournament Saturday in
Grantham.
Dave Shafer won the 157-pound class with a 15-0
technical fall over Tim McGann of Messiah. Joe Arnone captured the
165-pound class with a 9-1 major decision over Brian Freidman of Ursinus.
Tegan McKee won the heavyweight class with a 4-0 decision over Monarch
teammate Kyle Burton.
Placing second for King's was Mitch Marcks (125) who
dropped a 6-4 decision to Mike Gardner of Stevens Tech. In a battle of
all-Americans at 149, Messiah's Andy Vogel posted a 5-2 win over Jim
Morgan. Joe Parsons was third at 174 pounds for King's.
