KING'S GRAPPLERS OPEN DUAL MEET SEASON WITH TRI-MEET SWEEP OF
WAYNESBURG, GETTYSBURG
GETTYBSURG -- The King's College opened the 2001-02 dual meet season on a
strong note as the Monarchs, ranked 12th nationally in Division III posted
a triangular match sweep of Waynesburg College (34-7) and host Gettysburg
College (40-10).
All-American Jason Schlingman and Dave Shafer each led King's with a pair
of pins as both grapplers improved to 8-0 on the year. Freshman
Tegan McKee earned a pin and major decision at 197 to improve to 11-1.
Fellow rookie Joe Arnone also won both matches to improve to 7-1. Sophomore
Mitch Marcks won a pair of decision to up his mark to 7-0 while Jesse
Martinez earned a pin and decision to improve to 8-1.
