KING'S WRESTLERS DROP FOUR MATCHES AT DESERT DUALS

LAS VEGAS, NV -- The King's College wrestling team dropped all four matches at the annual Desert Duals Tuesday at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In its first match King's fell to 19th ranked North Central College of Illinois 31-10. In its second match, the Monarchs dropped a 34-3 verdict to Elmhurst College of Illinois. The Monarchs were then bested by second-ranked Wartburg 56--1 before falling to 28th ranked Loras 36-15.

North Central won the first six matches to build a 22-0 lead. In a battle of the top two wrestlers in Division III at 133-pounds, top-ranked defending national champion David Morgan of King's dropped a 4-3 decision to second-ranked Adam Johnson, who was third in the 2007 NCAA tournament. Morgan fell to 7-1 with the loss while Johnson improved to 21-1 on the year.

King's freshman Mike Reilly, who recently transferred to King's from Division I Bloomsburg University, made his King's debut a successful one with an 11-2 major decision at 174-pounds. King's other win came at heavyweight where Chris Rash won by a pin.

Against Elmhurst, Morgan was the lone King's winner, posting a 13-7 decision over Ben Salabura.  The Monarchs were blanked against powerful Wartburg and were penalized a team point in the process.

In their final match against Loras, Reily won by fall at 174 while Bob Barese picked up a 4-2 decision at 165. Tony Miele also won by injury default at 141.

Wartburg College served as the host institution and has all results available at the following link:
