KING'S WRESTLERS EDGE E-TOWN,
25-20
ELIZABETHTOWN -- Justin Bender
picked up a match-clinching decision at heavyweight as the
King's College wrestling team posted a 25-20 victory over host
Elizabethtown College Thursday in Elizabethtown. With the win,
King's improved to 8-9 on the year.
After an Elizabethtown win at 197 cut the Monarch lead to 22-20,
Bender stepped to the mat and was in control throughout, posting
an 8-4 victory to give King's the victory.
King's and Elizabethtown won five matches each with the Monarchs
getting pins from Tony Miele (141) and Zach Martinez (184),
while Mike Reilly posted a major decision at 174. King's
defending Division III national champion David Morgan picked up
a forfeit win at 133.
The Monarchs will return home
on Saturday for their final home dual meet of the season when
King's hosts Messiah College at 2:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
