KING'S WRESTLERS TRAVELING TO
URSINUS COLLEGE TOURNEY
COLLEGEVILLE -- The King's
College wrestling team crowned four individual champions to place fourth
at the Ursinus College Invitational Saturday in Collegeville.
Monarch champions included defending NCAA Division III national champion
David Morgan at 133-pounds, sophomore Tony Miele at 141, sophomore
Taylor Green at 157, and freshman Mike Reilly at 174.
Morgan, ranked second in the latest Division III ratings, went 4-0 in
the event, recording two falls prior posting a 11-9 decision over
eighth-ranked Mike Gummerson of Centenary.
Miele, meanwhile, was also 4-0 on the day, earning three decisions
before registering a pin in 3:45 over second-seeded Jon Stillo of
Centenary.
Greene, who recently returned to the lineup after missing the entire
first semester with an injury also won four matches and earned the title
with a 9-6 victory over Mike Torsiello of Centenary.
Reilly was dominant at 174, posting three falls and a major decision on
the day. He won his title by pinning Mike Hamilton of Oneonta State in
the finals. Reilly's most impressive showing of the event was a 22-8
major decision over top-seeded Chris Mixon of Wesleyan College.
