KING'S TENNIS IMPROVES TO 12-5 WITH 8-1 WIN OVER E-TOWN

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team prepped for this weekend's Freedom Conference team tournament by defeating Elizabethtown College 8-1 Thursday at Betzler Fields.

With the win, the Monarchs improved to 12-5 while the Blue Jays fell to 8-9.

Mike Portonova. Nick Hojsack, Blake Bonser, David Boe, and David Kaluzavich were each winners in both singles and doubles for the Monarchs.
 
Portonova improved to 16-1 with his 15th straight victory while Kaluzavich upped his mark to 12-5. Portonova and Hojsack also teamed to increase their doubles record to 11-3.

Second-seeded King's will now face third-seeded FDU-Florham in the Freedom Conference semi-finals Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Drew University in Madison, NJ.  Should the Monarchs win, they will meet the Drew-Wilkes survivor for the championship Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
