KING'S TENNIS FALLS TO
DREW IN FIRST-PLACE CONFERENCE BATTLE
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team saw its eight-match
winning streak come to and end when the Monarchs dropped a 6-3 decision
to Drew University in a battle for first-place in the MAC Freedom
Conference.
With the win, Drew posted an eighth straight victory of its own,
improving to 8-4 overall and 6-0 in Freedom Conference play.
King's, meanwhile, slipped to 10-4 and 5-1 in league play.
King's victories came by way of Mike Portonova and Nick Hojsack who won
their respective singles matches, while also teaming up to register a
triumph in doubles. Portonova improved to 13-1 in singles while Hojsack
upped his mark to 10-4
The Monarchs travel to Selinsgrove to face Susquehanna University
Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
