KING'S MEN'S TENNIS WINS TWO VERSUS CLARK,
URSINUS
KISSIMMEE, FLA -- The King's College men's tennis
team continued its solid play as the Monarchs won a pair of matches
Wednesday in Kissimmee, Fla.
King's defeated Clark University 8-1 in a morning matchup, then followed
with a 8-1 triumph over Ursinus College in the afternoon. With the
sweep, King's improved to 3-2 on its spring trip, going 3-0 against
Division III teams while dropping both matches to NAIA scholarship
programs. It marked the first time King's has ever won more than two
matches during its annual pilgrimage to Florida.
Junior Nick Hojsack went a combined 4-0 on the day in both singles and
doubles for the Monarchs. Junior Mike Portonova, sophomore Blake Bonser,
and freshman David Kaluzavich all went 3-0. Sophomore Povl Schmidt was
2-0 while sophomore David Boe was 3-1.
The Monarchs will wrap up its southern trip
Thursday with a match against NCAA Division II Southern
Illinois-Edwardsville.
