KING'S TENNIS TEAM ROUTES PENN STATE BERKS
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team won the doubles competition, then took 12-of-13 sets in singles action as the Monarchs posted a 7-0 victory over visiting Penn State Berks Thursday at Kirby Park.
Mike Portonova improved to 18-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Tom Rothchilkd at number-one singles. Nick Hojsack also earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Frank Chicco at second singles. The duo also teamed to score an 8-0 triumph in doubles.
Matt Dunne and Brett Shipe were also winners in both singles and doubles for the Monarchs. David Kaluzavich added a singles win as King's improved to 9-10 on the year.
The Monarchs will play Moravian College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Bethlehem.
