KING'S TENNIS PLACES
THREE ON ALL-FREEDOM TEAM
WILKES-BARRE -- Three members of the King's College men's tennis team
have been named to the 2008 All-Freedom Conference Team. Selected
to the first team was senior Nick Hojsack, while junior Blake Bonser and
sophomore Johnathan Hand were second-team choices.
Hojsack has played number-one singles and doubles for the Monarchs all
season and has posted a combined 19-21 record, going 8-12 in singles and
11-9 in doubles. Hojsack has been a first-team all-conference
selection each of the past two years and has two Middle Atlantic
Conference doubles championships to his credit in 2006 and 2007. Hojsack
also owns a 44-48 singles record in his four-year career at King's.
Bonser holds down the number-three singles spot while playing second
doubles during the season. This season he has a combined 24-14
mark, compiled a team-best 15-6 singles record while going 9-8 in
doubles, playing with five different partners.
Hand, meanwhile, enjoyed a fine first year with the Monarchs after
transferring from Mercer Community College in New Jersey. Playing
number-two singles and first doubles the majority of the season, Hand
owns a combined 21-19 record, going 10-10 in singles and 11-9 in doubles
The trio will attempt to win Middle Atlantic Conference championships
this weekend when King's competes in the MAC Individual Championships
Saturday and Sunday at Kirby Park and the Wilkes University Courts at
Ralston Field.
