KING'S MEN'S SOCCER POSTS 4-2 WIN AT ARCADIA
GLENSIDE, PA -- Freshman Ryan Murphy scored three goals as King's College posted a 4-2 win against host Arcadia
University Saturday afternoon in Glenside, Pa.
With the win King's improves to 7-7
overall and 3-1 in league play, while Arcadia falls to 2-12 and 1-3 in
league play.
Arcadia got on the board first on a goal
from Andrew Plunkett assisted by Matt Benner. King's would answer back
with three goals in the first period as Murphy netted two goals and
sophomore Grant Parsons added another to give King's a
3-1 lead at the half.
Murphy would add his final goal at the
85:13 mark of the second period to extend the lead to 4-1. Plunkett
would then add his second goal of the game for Arcadia off a penalty kick making it
4-2.
Arcadia outshot King's 16-8, while the
Monarchs
held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Senior goalie John McNichol had
six saves in net for the Monarchs.
King's will return to action Thursday
when the Monarchs host DeSales University for a game at 3:30 pm at
Betzler Fields.
