KING'S MEN'S SOCCER TIES ALBRIGHT 1-1 ON
DOUBLE-OVERTIME
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College and Albright
College men's soccer teams battled for 110 minutes and walked away with
a 1-1 double-overtime tie Saturday at Betzler Fields.
With the Draw, King's now stands at 3-4-2, while Albright is 3-3-2.
King's took a 1-0 first-half lead when Cameron Audette made good on a
penalty kick with 15:31 left on the clock. Albright would force overtime
when Mike DePasquale scored off an assist by Sam Thompson with 17:04
remaining in regulation. Two 10-minute scoreless overtime periods would
fail to decide a winner as both teams were forced to settle for the tie.
Albright outshot King's 16-13 while both teams had five corner kicks.
Monarch goalie John McNichol made eight saves while Albright keepers Joe
Hartman and Wendell Hannaford combined for two saves.
King's will be idle until Saturday when the Monarchs travel to face
Lycoming College at 11:00 a.m. in Williamsport.
