MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO LVC 4-1 IN
OPENER
WILKES-BARRE -- Visiting Lebanon Valley
College opened up a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a 4-1 victory over
host King's College in the season opening contest for both teams
Friday at Betzler Fields.
Ben Wagner scored just 1:30 into the
contest off a Zach Barkus assist for the Flying Dutchmen, before
Rich Chesney upped the lead to 2-0 at 21:34. The Dutchmen would
take a three-goal half-time advantage when Adam Myers struck net
with just 1:41 on the clock.
After King Shaah scored off a Joe Kopchick assist with 30:00 left in
the match for a 4-0 LVC lead, King's would finally reach the
scoreboard when Cameron Audette found the back of the net with 18:10
on the clock.
Lebanon Valley outshot King's 20-4 while both teams took five corner
kicks. King's freshman goalie Kaleb Smith made 11 saves in his
collegiate debut.
King's hosts Gwynedd-Mercy College Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Betzler
Fields.
