MILLER, AUDETTE LEAD MONARCHS PAST DVC, 4-0
WILKES-BARRE -- Jordan Miller scored two goals and Cameron Audette
distributed a pair of assists to lead the King's College men's soccer
team Sunday at Betzler Fields.
With the win, King's improved to 5-10 overall and 1-4 in Freedom
Conference play. Delaware Valley slipped to 0-14 and 0-5 in league
action.
King's would jump out to a quick 1-0 lead when Miller scored on a header
off a crossing pass from Audette 6:00 into the contest. The Monarchs
would extend the lead when Miller drilled a shot at Aggie goalie Steve
Richtmyer, then followed up to convert the rebound into a 2-0 lead just
4:30 later.
In the second half, Brandon Heller would give King's a 3-0 advantage
with an unassisted goal with 18:55 remaining in the contest. Ryan
Symons would close out the scoring when he converted a through pass from
Audette into the a 4-0 lead with 12:00 left.
King's outshot Delaware Valley 22-7 and held a 4-2 advantage in corner
kicks. King's goalie John McNichol made two saves on the day while
Richtmyer posted three saves for the Aggies.
The Monarchs will next travel to Williamsport on Thursday to face
Lycoming College in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
