KING'S MEN'S SOCCER TEAM TRAVELS TO FACE MARYWOOD
SCRANTON -- The King's College men's soccer team built a 2-0 half-time
lead, en route to posting a 3-0 victory over host Marywood University in
a non-conference matchup Tuesday in Scranton.
With the win, King's improved to 3-7 while Marywood fell to 0-7.
King's would open the scoring just 7:00 into the game when Ryan Symons
knocked in an unassisted goal. The Monarchs would stretch the lead to
2-0 10 minutes later when Jordan Miller scored on a penalty kick.
Brandon Heller would push across the final goal of the game off an
assist from Miller with 18:34 left in the contest.
King's outshot Marywood 14-3 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Monarch goalie Mike Conroy made one stop to pick up the victory.
King's returns to action Thursday when the Monarchs travel to Newark, NJ
to face Rutgers-Newark in a makeup postponed on September 2 due to heavy
rains.
