KING'S MEN'S SOCCER TEAM FALLS TO SCRANTON 4-1
WILKES-BARRE -- Tim Logan scored the first two goals of the game and the
University of Scranton men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Freedom
Conference play with a 4-1 victory over host King's College Wednesday at
Betzler Fields.
With the win, Scranton improved to 6-2-1 overall and 3-0 in Freedom
Conference play. King's slipped to 2-6 and 0-2 in conference
action.
Logan would score just 8:09 into the contest, then added a second score
at 27:51 to give Scranton a 2-0 lead. The Royals would extend
their first-half lead to 3-0 when Gary Racich converted a penalty kick
at 34:56.
King's would cut the lead to 3-1 when Grant Parsons scored off an assist
from Mike Buckwash with 0:16 remaining in the first half. Scranton
would push across the final goal of the game just 1:31 into the second
half on a goal from Ralph Elliott.
Scranton outshot King's 18-2 and held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
King's goalie Mike Conroy made seven saves while Royals' keeper Dave
Keib was credited with one stop.
The Monarchs will travel to meet DeSales University Saturday at 1:00
p.m. in Center Valley.
