WILKES-BARRE -- Steve Uhas scored the first three goals of the game as Wilkes University posted a 4-0 victory over host King's College in the Freedom Conference opener for both teams Tuesday at Betzler Fields.

With the win, Wilkes improved to 5-2 on the year while King's slipped to 1-5.

Uhas opened the scoring at 14:15 of the first half off an assist by Andy Curry. The Colonels extended the lead to 2-0 at the half on an unassisted goal by Uhas at 27:17.

In the second stanza, Uhas tallied his third goal of the game at 54:44 on a pass from Greg Miller to give the Colonels a 3-0 lead. Wilkes would push across the final goal of the contest when Curry scored on an assist by Matt Martin just 2:16 later.

King's best chance came early in the first half when Cameron Audette's shot caromed off the post and a shot off the rebound by Nate Buckwalter hit the side of the net.

Wilkes outshot King's 14-6 and held a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.
