KING'S MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS MARYWOOD, 5-0
WILKES-BARRE -- Five different players scored goals as the King's
College men's soccer team posted a 5-0 victory over Marywood University
Wednesday at Betzler Fields.
King's took a 1-0 half-time lead when Jim McMichael scored with 2:-59
remaining on the clock. The Monarchs extended the lead to 2-0 when
Mark Wallis scored unassisted with 34:50 left in the contest. Jordan
Miller then struck net off a pass from Ricky Branco to increase the lead
to 3-0 with 30:50 left.
Cameron Audette and Mark Nessle added the two final scores while Kyle
Custer contributed with an assist.
King's outshot Marywood 22-3 and held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
King's goalies Dan Roth and John McNichol
combined for three saves while Marywood keeper Todd Sharbaugh made nine
saves.
The Monarchs will next host DeSales Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Betzler
Fields.
