KING'S MEN'S SOCCER GAINS 1-0 WIN AT DELAWARE VALLEY

DOYLESTOWN -- Ricky Branco scored the only goal of the game with just 3:30 remaining in the contest as the King's College men's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over host Delaware Valley College Saturday in Doylestown.

With the win, King's improved to 3-7-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Freedom Conference. Delaware Valley fell to 0-9-1 and 0-3 in conference play.

With the game appearing to be headed toward overtime, Branco knocked in a pass from teammate Brandon Placke to score what proved to be the game-winning goal.

King's outshot Delaware Valley 19-10 and held a 15-3 advantage in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Danny Roth made seven saves while Aggie Keeper Nick D'Amato also posted seven saves.

King's will next host Marywood University Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Betzler Fields.
