KING'S SOCCER LOSES TO YORK, 3-0
MILLVILLE -- The King's men's soccer squad dropped a 3-0 decision to
York College Saturday night at Millville High School.
With the loss, King's falls to 1-3 on the year while York, the 2004
Capital Athletic Conference runner-up, improved to
3-0.
York took a 1-0 lead at the 40:36 mark on an unassisted goal from Scott
McDowell. The Spartans then went into the halftime break with a 2-0 lead
after Chris Ports converted a penalty kick with 25:37 remaining. York
added the final goal with 7:10 left in the contest when Andrew Wheeler
scored unassisted.
York outshot King's 11-5 while the Monarchs had a 4-2 edge in corner
kicks. King's goalie Dan Upton made eight saves.
The Monarchs will make their home debut Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. against
Keystone College.
