KING'S MEN'S SOCCER TEAM FALLS IN OVERTIME TO MISERICORDIA
WILKES-BARRE -- Jordan Aungst scored the game-winning goal with
7:58 remaining in the first overtime period as host College Misericordia
posted a 2-1 victory over King's College in a non-conference men's
soccer game Wednesday evening in Dallas.
With the loss, the Monarchs fell to 1-3 on the season while Misericordia
improved to 2-1.
Misericordia took a 1-0 lead at 41:43 of the first half when Colin Hynes
scored off an Aungst assist. The Monarchs knotted the score at 1-1
when Brandon Stanchock scored on a header off of a pass from mark Wallis
just 5:26 later.
The teams would play scoreless soccer for the next 90:35 until Aungst
knocked in a rebound past Monarch goalie Danny Roth.
Misericordia outshot King's 10-4 and held a 6-5 advantage in corner
kicks.
