KING'S SOCCER EDGES MISERICORDIA, 1-0
WILKES-BARRE -- Freshman Dennis Maldonado scored
the only goal of the game as the King's College men's soccer team posted
a 1-0 victory over visiting College Misericordia Wednesday at Betzler
Fields.
With the win, King's improved to 8-7-1 while Misericordia fell to 6-8-1.
After a scoreless first half, Maldonado would push across the eventual
game-winner off an assist from Brandon Placke with 35:15 remaining in
the contest. Each team had scoring chances over the remainder of the
game but neither would capitalize as the Monarchs recorded their second
straight shutout.
Misericordia outshot King's 13-8 and both teams had three corner kicks
each. King's goalie Dan Upton made 10 saves while Cougar keeper Kevin
Franco had two stops.
King's will next host Montclair State University
