KING'S MEN'S SOCCER ROUT DELAWARE VALLEY COLLEGE, 9-0

WILKES-BARRE – King’s College (7-7-1/3-2 in MAC) had no problems defeating Delaware Valley (0-14-1/0-3-1 in MAC) on Saturday afternoon, overwhelming them 9-0 in MAC Freedom Conference soccer action at Betzler Fields.

It was the Monarchs most lopsided victory since October 15th, 2002 when they defeated Centenary College by a score of 8-2.

King’s put this game away early scoring six goals in the first half.  Goalkeepers Dan Upton and John McNichol each combined for the shutout, the Monarchs third of the season.

Brett Shipe led the way for the Monarchs scoring two goals with one assist.  Brandon Heller and Jordan Miller each also had two goals and one assist.  Other goals were scored by Mark Ferentz, Brandon Placke, and Andrew Petrick.  Sean Wooster and Mike McGarry each chipped in with one assist.

The Aggies only attempted ten shots on goal with three corner kick opportunities.  The Monarchs had 25 shots on goal with ten corner kicks during the game.

King’s will play its next game against hometown rival College Misericordia at Betzler Fields on Wednesday at 3:30
