KING'S MEN'S SOCCER TEAM RALLIES TO TIE PHILLY BIBLE
PHILADELPHIA -- The King's College men's soccer team overcame a 3-0
first half deficit to forge a 3-3 double-overtime tie with host
Philadelphia Biblical University Thursday in Philadelphia.
Derek Mosey scored a pair of goals while Dave Booher also tallied to
give the Crimson Eagles a 3-0 lead with 13:17 remaining in the first
half.
The Monarchs (6-7-1) cut the lead to 3-1 at the break when Mark Ferentz
scored off an assist from Brandon Heller with 9:09 on the clock.
King's would cut into the lead just 1:16 into the second half when
Brandon Placke struck net off Heller's second assist. King's would
knot the score with 31:04 remaining when Heller scored off an assist
from Brett Shipe.
The teams would then play51 minutes of scoreless soccer as the game
would end deadlocked at 3-3.
Philadelphia Biblical (9-9-1) outshot King's 18-16 while the
Monarchs held a 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
King's will host Delaware Valley College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at
Betzler Fields.
