KING'S MEN'S SOCCER TEAM FALL TO KEYSTONE IN OT
La Plume -- Ben Amankwah scored the game-winning goal with just
twenty-three seconds left in the first overtime to lift the host
Keystone College men's soccer team to a 4-3 victory over King's College
The victory improves
Keystone's record to 5-4-1 while King's falls to 4-6.
Ryan Kelly got the Giants on
the board early with a goal at the 7:29 mark off an assist from Julian
Irolla. Kelly built Keystone's lead to 2-0 at the half when he
scored off an assist from Idrissa Sidibe at the 38:11 mark.
The Monarchs cut the lead to
one just five minutes into the second half when Dan Gibbons connected
from Jordan Miller. Adam Lemanski stretched the lead to 3-1 when
he found the net at the 66:14 mark off an assist from Tom Golumbfskie.
Brandon Heller inched King's
closer at the 80:26 mark before a Mike McGarry's penalty kick with just
0:41 remaining knotted the score at 3-3 and sent the game to overtime.
With darkness looming, as
well as a second overtime, Amankwah nailed home the game winner off an
assist from Irolla at 104:37 to give Keystone the victory.
Graham Duuglas made eight saves in net for the Giants, while Danny Roth
stopped seven for King's
The Monarchs return to
action Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Marywood.
