KING’S BLANKS PBU, 3-0

WILKES-BARRE – The King’s College men’s soccer team put forth a solid effort Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles by a 3-0 score.  The win ended a nine game unbeaten streak for the Crimson Eagles (8-8-1).  The Monarchs won their fifth in a row and seventh in eight games to improve their record to 9-7 on the season.

Dan Gibbons got King’s on the board at 31:41 in the first period off an assist from Brett Shipe.  With 11:49 left in the first half, Jordan Miller continued his solid freshman season by notching his seventh goal of the year off a direct kick which Mike McGarry assisted.  In the second half, McGarry finished out the scoring for the Monarchs with his fourth goal of the season.  The unassisted goal came at 20:31 in the second period.

Dan Upton was dependable in goal again for King’s, stopping four shots.  Dan Seifert made four saves for PBU.  The Monarchs held the advantage in shots over PBU, 16-6, and in corner kicks, 7-2.

King’s will be in action again this Thursday afternoon when they travel to Misericordia for a 3:30 game.
