MISERICORDIA SOCCER DEFEATS KING'S 2-1
WILKES-BARRE -- College Misericordia broke open a scoreless game with
two second-half goals as the Cougars posted a 2-1 victory over host
King's College Tuesday at Betzler Fields.
After a scoreless first half, Misericordia reached the scoreboard
when Jason Tempests scored off a Vinnie Greer assist with 36:54
remaining in the contest, The Cougars took a 2-0 lead at 22:40
when Tim Morgan scored unassisted.
King's would cut the lead to 2-1 with 5:22 remaining when Joe Saukulyak
scored off an assist from Matt McGarry, but the Monarchs were unable to
knot he score over the final minutes.
With the win, Misericordia improved to 11-4-1 while King's slipped to
6-12.
The Monarchs will close out its season Sunday when King's hosts Delaware
valley at 12:00 noon at Betzler Fields.
