MONARCH SOCCER DROPS 2-1 VERDICT TO DESALES
CENTER VALLEY -- John Rennie scored the winning goal with 8:30 remaining
on a penalty kick as DeSales University posted a 2-1 victory over
visiting King's College Saturday in Center Valley.
DeSales scored first on a Ryan Nolan goal at 38:19 of the first half.
The Monarchs tied the score when Greg Castellani struck net off a Drew
Flavell assist with 27:32 remaining, to set up Rennie's deciding goal.
Dan Upton had 10 saves for the Monarchs.
DeSales held a 20-13 advantage in shots as well as a 10-8 lead in corner
kicks. King's falls to 6-9 overall and 1-4 in MAC Freedom
Conference action.
King's will return to action Tuesday when the Monarchs host Scranton at
3:30 p.m. at Betzler Fields.
