KING'S COLLEGE SOCCER HOSTING EASTERN
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's soccer team was unable to make
a 1-0 lead stand up in the finals minutes as the Monarchs settled for a
1-1 double-overtime tie with Eastern University Saturday night at
Betzler Fields.
With the draw, King's now stands at 10-1-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the
Freedom Conference while Eastern sits at 5-4-1 and 0-0-1 in league
games.
King's would take a 1-0 lead at 14:32 of the first half when Mark Timko
struck net off an assist by Cameron Audette.The score would remain the
same until Eastern knotted the score when Brian Raffle drove home a
rebounded off a shot by Terry Fry with just 3:10 left in the contest.
The teams would play two 10:00 extra frames but neither team would
score.
Tim Kelly made seven saves in goal for the Monarchs.
The Monarchs return to action Monday at 7:00 p.m. against Keystone
College at Betzler Fields.
