KING'S SOCCER EARNS 4-2 WIN OVER MARYWOOD

Scranton - Camreron Audette scored his 10th and 11th goals of the year as the King's College men's soccer team picked up a 4-2 win Wednesday afternoon to spoil the Pacers' home-opener.  With the win, King's improved to a perfect 5-0 on the year while Marywood fell to 2-2 on the season.

Marywood struck first in the non-conference tilt when Anthony Roma scored on a rebounded shot 10:25 into the opening half.

The Marywood lead would last all of 0:17 as Dan Carle's scored off a direct kick at the 10:42 mark. 

Audette put King's in front in the 29th minute by converting a penalty kick after Marywood was whistled for a handball inside the box.

In the 37th minute, the Pacers' were awarded a penalty kick of their own and Lee Powers made good on his attempt to knot the game at 2-2 as the teams headed into halftime.

King's would break through for good though in the 66th minute as Paul Racz took a feed from Mark Timko to goal to give King's a 3-2 lead before Audette added an insurance marker in the 78th minute by finishing off a rebound for his second goal of the match. In just five games this season, Audette has tallied a remarkable 25 points on 11 goals and three assists.

King's out-shot Marywood 18-6 including a commanding 14-2 advantage in the second half.  The Monarchs also held an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

Tim Kelly picked up the win by making two saves while Albanese made seven saves in the Marywood net.
