KING'S MEN'S SOCCER SPLITS FINAL TWO GAMES, CONCLUDE EUROPEAN TRIP
WITH 1-2 MARK
Dachau, Germany -- The King's College men's soccer team split its
final two games during its summer trip to Europe and finished its
three-game series with a 1-2 record.
In
its second game of the trip on August 14, the Monarchs posted a 3-2 win
over PSV Salzburg of Austria. Reigning Freedom Conference MVP
Cameron Audette (left) led the way with two goals for King's while Mark
Timko followed with one goal and one assist. The Monarchs also received
assists from Ryan Symons and Brian Haldeman.
In King's final game on August 16, the Monarchs traveled to Dachau,
Germany where it dropped a hard-fought 2-1 verdict to FC Ebersburg.
Audette tallied the lone goal for King's, netting his third goal of the
trip. Grant Parsons was credited with the assist.
The Monarchs, who dropped their opener to
Sparta Prague by a 4-1 margin on August 11, performed well during their
stay in Europe. Sparta Prague stands as the top age group team
in the Czech Liga (League).
King’s players who will be made the trip include seniors Ryan Symons,
Cameron Audette, Nate Buckwalter, Mark Timko, Mike Buckwash, and Paul
Racz. Monarch juniors include Patrick McCarthy, Brian McElroy, Brian
Haldeman, Grant Parsons, Alex Henery, and Rich Melber. Sophomores
includes Dan Horn, Andrew Neyer, Dan Carle, Dan Kosydar, Josh Stocker,
Dan Mortenson, and Sam Kressler.
The Monarchs return home to begin practice on August 19. King's will
kick off its season August 30-31 with back-to-back games with Green
Mountain College and Penn State Berks.
