KING'S LACROSSE FALLS TO WIDENER 15-5
WILKES-BARRE -- Brian Stromko scored three goals and dished out three
assists to lead defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion Widener
University to a 15-5 victory over King's College in men's lacrosse
action Saturday at Betzler Fields.
With the win, Widener
improved to 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the MAC while King's fell to 2-11 and
2-7.
The Pioneers jumped out to a 5-1 first quarter lead, then took a 10-3
advantage into the half-time break. Clint Quedenfeld and Luke
Weber added to the Widener attack with two goals and one assist apiece
while Chris Matthews also netted two goals. Darnell Jones chipped in
with three assists.
For King's, Ryan Lachner had two goals and one assist while John Booth,
Curtis Reinard, and John Doran scored one goal each for the Monarchs.
Chris Landry contributed one assist. King's goalie Tim Cassi made
11 saves in the game.
King's will host Susquehanna University Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at
Betzler Fields.
