KING'S MEN'S LAXERS POST 10-5 WIN AT DESALES
CENTER VALLEY -- Chris Hovis and Chris Landry scored three goals each to
lead the King's College men's lacrosse squad to a 10-5 victory over
DeSales University Saturday in Center Valley.
The win improved the Monarchs to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in Middle Atlantic
Conference play while DeSales slipped to-5 and 0-3.
King's took a 1-0 lead just 0:22 into the game when Paul Mora scored
unassisted. After a DeSales goal by Dan Thomer tied the score, Landry
tallied his first goal off an assist from Andrew D'agostino at 11:54.
The Bulldogs would again knot the score at 2-2 on a Jay Young goal with
11:23 left in the first period.
Hovis would convert on another assist from D'agostino just 0:33 into the
second stanza and Landry followed with his second goal at 12:53 as the
Monarchs built a 4-2 halftime lead.
After DeSales would cut the Monarch lead to 4-3 on a goal by Thomer at
11:23 of the third period, the Monarchs would counter with a decisive
four-goal spurt. Hovis tallied his second goal at 9:24, before Ryan
Lachner struck net with 4:17 remaining in the third period. Moran and
Landry scored at 2:26 and 1:17 to give King's a 8-3 advantage heading
into the final period. D'agostino and Hovis would add fourth quarter
goals to seal the victory.
D'agostino finished with one goal and two assists while Moran chipped in
with two goals for the Monarchs. Tim Cassi picked up the win in goal
with nine saves.
