KING'S LACROSSE DEBUTS WITH 19-4 LOSS TO 18TH RANKED ST. MARY'S (MD) COLLEGE

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD --  Kyle Patton and Pat Donavan scored three goals each to power St. Mary's (Md.) College to a 19-4 victory over visiting King's College Thursday in St. Mary's Maryland.

With the win St. Mary's, ranked 18th nationally in Division III, improved to 3-1 on the year while the Monarchs stand at 0-1 after its season-debut.

Seven different players struck net for St. Mary's which raced out to a 10-0 half-time.  King's would finally get on the scoreboard when Ryan Thomas scored the first of his two goals unassisted with 8:11 remaining. Chris Hovis and John Matusiewicz also score for King's. Paul Moran added an assist for the Monarchs.

Andrew Bartle played the first half for King's and allowed 10 goals while making three saves. Tim Cassi played the second stanza, allowing nine goals while making 10 saves.

Thomas also posted a team-high five ground balls while Chad Flexon and Gene Giallombardo added three each.

King's will return to action Wednesday at College Misericordia in a 4:00 p.m. contest at Anderson Field.
