KING'S LACROSSE FALLS TO SUSQUEHANNA
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's lacrosse team overcame a 4-1
first-half deficit to take a 5-4 lead but eventually dropped a 7-5 verdict
to Susquehanna University Wednesday at Betzler Fields.
With the loss, King's falls to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Middle Atlantic
Conferences. Susquehanna improved to 2-4 and 1-2.
Trailing 4-1, King's battled back to tie the score at 4-4 at the half on
two goals from Chris Landry and another from Ryan Thomas. In the third
period, Gary Morgan scored off an assist from Matusiewicz to give the
Monarchs a 5-4 lead.
Susquehanna would tie score at 5-5 when Justin Mason and Ryan Walters
struck net to give the Crusaders a 6-5 lead heading into the final period.
Susquehanna would thwart several King's chances and added the final tally
when Walters scored the game's final goal with 13:26 left in the contest.
Landry led King's with three goals while Thomas dished out three assists.
Steve Matusiewicz made nine saves. Walters netted three for Susquehanna
while Dan St. Ours added two scores. Dan Kotch had 14 stops
