KING'S LACROSSE DOWNS DESALES TO IMPROVE TO 2-0
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's lacrosse team improved to
2-0 for the first time in history as the Monarchs posted a 7-6 overtime
victory over DeSales University Saturday in Myrtle Beach, SC.
With the game tied at 6-6 after regulation and the Monarchs enjoying a
man-up advantage, John Matusiewicz netted the game winner with just 2:37
left in the first overtime frame to give King's a dramatic victory.
The win also gave King's a 1-0 record in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
Chris Landry led the Monarchs offensively with three goals while Ryan
Thomas netted one goal and dished out four assists. John McGuire
added one goal and one assist while Chris Hovis chipped in with one goal.
King's received another strong defensive effort as the Monarchs have
yielded just nine goals in the first two games. Steve Matusiewicz picked
up the win in goal with seven saves on the day.
