KING'S LACROSSE WINS OPENER WITH 12-3 WIN OVER MEDAILLE

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's lacrosse team opened the 2005 season in fine fashion with a 12-3 victory over Medaille College Tuesday in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Monarchs were led by Ryan Thomas who posted three-goals and five assists on the day. John Matusiewicz followed with four goals while Chris Landry added two goals and three assists. John McGuire netted two goals while Gary Morgan chipped in with one.  Senior goalie Steve Matusiewicz made seven saves in goal.

The Monarchs were bolstered by an outstanding defensive effort as King's held Medaille scoreless on 13 man-up advantages.

the Monarchs held a 41-16 advantage in shots while totaling 54 ground balls, compared to 33 for Medaille.
