KING'S LACROSSE FALLS TO DREW 10-3

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's lacrosse team built a 3-1 first quarter lead but were unable to maintain their advantage as the Monarchs dropped a 10-3 verdict to host Drew University Wednesday evening in Madison, NJ.

King's took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Carlo Ciotoli at 12:07, then added a second tally at 5:09 when John Matusiewicz scored off an assist from Frank Tedesco. After Drew cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal at 4:07, Chris Reilly gave the Monarchs a 3-1 lead with 2:32 remaining in the opening quarter off an assist from Gene Giallambardo.

The Rangers would counter in the second period three goals to take a 4-3 lead into the locker room. Drew would add three goals in each of the third and fourth quarters to secure the victory.

Steve Matusiewicz made 16 saves in goal for the Monarchs, who slipped to 2-9 overall and 0-8 in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
