KING'S LACROSSE OPENS WITH 13- WIN OVER IMMACULATA
IMMACULATA -- The King's College men's lacrosse team opened the 2008
season in successful fashion as the Monarchs posted a 14-6 victory over
host Immaculata College Wednesday in Immaculata.
With the game tied 3-3 at the half, the Monarchs exploded for eight
goals in the third quarter and kept the Mighty Macs of the board to take
a 11-3 lead into the final period. King's added three more in the third
to wrap up the victory.
Curtis Reinard topped the Monarchs with three goals and three assists
while Chris Landry followed with two goals and two assists. John Doran
added three goals and one assist while Ryan Lachner also netted three
goals. Kris Skewes tallied a pair of goals whole T.J. Lyon registered
one goal. Daniel Carducci chipped in with one assist.
Tim Cassi stood tall in goal for the Monarchs, making 13 saves. The
Monarchs out shot Immaculata 40-31 and held a 45-21 advantage in ground
balls King's won 14 face-offs, compared to nine for the Mighty Macs.
King's will be idle until Wednesday when the Monarchs travel to
Selinsgrove to face Susquehanna University in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
